The Pottery Cafe is set in the beautiful courtyard garden setting of Morris & James Pottery & Tileworks at Matakana, less than an hour’s drive north of Auckland.


We are open every day from 9am to 4pm, serving freshly-made breakfast, coffee, cakes and lunch. And on Friday and Saturday we open in the evenings with a special dinner menu.


We use the best local produce, including fish straight off the boats at Leigh, to produce good, unpretentious dishes to suit every budget and taste. All our food is made on the premises, from our home-made cakes and slices to sauces, stocks and mayonnaise. Our standard menu changes with the seasons, and there are ever-changing daily specials. From classic soups and sandwiches to a three-course lunch or dinner with well-chosen wines,
